The Sensex fell 740 points to 14,324; Maruti and Bharti Airtel were the top drags

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights:

On Thursday, domestic stock markets closed in the red for the second day in a row. The S&P BSE Sensex fell 740 points to 48,440 points today, while the 50-stock NSE Nifty fell 1.5 percent to 14,324 points. Among the Sensex constituents, only Dr Reddy’s, ICICI Bank, HDFC, and Larsen & Toubro finished in the black. The worst-performing Sensex stocks were Maruti Suzuki, Hindustan Unilever, and Bharti Airtel. During the day, broader markets performed lower than the benchmark indices. The India Vix climbed a smidgeon to close at 22.75.
